Uganda Culture runs on people who share what they know. Every contribution we publish names the person it came from, in the way they choose, on every page where it appears. Credit is not a footnote here; it is the record of who keeps Uganda's culture alive.

Accepted contributions become pages with you credited, under a licence that lets others learn from them.
Everything you send is covered by the Contributor Agreement and our Content Policy. Sacred, restricted or private matters stay out, and people are named only with their agreement.
What people have already shared makes up a record that covers much of Uganda. Your contribution adds to it.
Something to put right?
Questions people ask
Who can contribute?
Anyone. You do not need to be a scholar or a writer. Elders, students, cooks, photographers, teachers, people who simply know their home.
Do I need an account?
No. Every form works without one. Registering keeps your contributions together and lets you follow them.
How long does review take?
Usually within two weeks for the first reply. Checking facts with sources and communities can take a few weeks more.
What do you not publish?
Secret, restricted or sacred matters; private details of living people without their agreement; claims we cannot check; anything that demeans a community.
Who owns what I send?
You do. You give us permission to publish it under a licence that lets others learn from it with credit, as set out in the Contributor Agreement.
Can I get paid?
No. Uganda Culture is a free, non-commercial record. Contributors are credited, not paid.
